I took off for work at the Purple Parrot Resort early this morning. It was my first 4.4 mile commute with the new Trike, and I wanted to enjoy the services before starting my shift.
It went great, stayed in the bike lane all the way to the main intersection, slid into the left turn lane with the traffic, and crossed over the bridge in the narrow bike lane without getting knocked into the Bay.
The Trike is not the speediest electric bike, 13.7 mph average, even going up and over the bridge. But I like it a bunch.
I stored it in the security shack at the entrance, which technically is my hangout, but I don't use it. Today was the big Memorial weekend Margarita Party, and my job was to keep the Tiki Bar partiers out of the pool if they had no wristband.
One lady even refereed to me as the bouncer, which is funny because I'm an almost 79 year old man that rides an electric tricycle to work, and I'm getting pretty skinny.
One couple sitting in the pool next to the free flowing drinks asked me if I was going to have a Margarita. I said No, for a couple reasons. One, I'm on the clock, and Two, I'm on the wagon.
