I've worked out a deal with Lectric and my local electric bike shop, Cycle Joint. Shelby and I brought my axle damaged Lectric XP Trike downtown to Cycle Joint this morning.
I've worked with Bruce the owner before to confirm via video that the left rear axle was damaged in shipment. They're a licensed Lectric dealer and Bruce proposed that he strip off all accessories, and have Lectric send a replacement bike to his shop right away.
The shipment box can then be used to return the damaged bike, with a minimum of downtime for me, and I can get back on the road to my summer job.
The bike shop will assemble the new bike with the accessories, professionally, test and verify everything is in perfect shape, then call me to come get it.
I've been in contact with Mark, who manages the Customer Experience team at Lectric, and he wholeheartedly agrees with this solution, so the deal is in the works. I'm also having the hi-back uncomfortable seat replaced with a more comfortable one.
So, not a penny out of my pocket as it should be, and I will get my transportation back as quickly as possible.
It's unfortunate this happened, but I'm pleased and satisfied with Mark's customer service and Brian's expertise.
In the meantime, the dogs enjoyed the trip into town...
